BLACK CHERRY. PORT. GATEAU.
Live Wired crackles with electricity, zapping your tastebuds with sweet, juicy fruit. This is a microlot from Finca Los dos Socios, The Two Partners - it may as well be from 'a couple of roasters'! The region of Huehuetenango in Guatemala is rich in green biodiversity and this lends to some spectacular coffee.

The Full Story
Don Concepcion Villatoro Matias purchased his farm in 1990, and since then it's been used for planting and harvesting coffee. Over time, Concepcion bought other small parcels, planting them with Bourbon and Caturra plants beneath the Gravilea and Chalum shade trees. These he separated into many small parcels. The name 'Los Dos Socios', or the two associates, refers to his relationship with God as the associate supporting his farm.
One of our roaster partners said this about their visit to the farm: "After we shared a meal with his family and learned more about his kids and grandkids, Concepción proudly led us up a jaggedly steep trail through shade trees and mature bourbón. He insisted on carrying my backpack since I was moving a little slowly post meal. 45 minutes later and at 1750m we got to the vantage point admiring Concepción's farm with sweeping mountains in the background. We fell in love with his farm after just falling in love with his family."
