Canny Beat It
MILKY WAY. HONEYCOMB. DRIED APRICOT.
Sometimes an understated coffee origin can provide the highlight of the year. In terms of new coffees for 2026 - this Mexican magician is seductively good. As a regular customer asserted during an impromptu tasting in our cafe … Aye, ye canny beat it. Sure can’t. Primarily grown in the shaded, misty, high-altitude mountains of the Sierra Norte, the Puebla region of Mexico is less prominent on the global coffee map. However, the last decade has seen a stark improvement in processing techniques and thus producing super clean, delicious speciality grade coffee.
There’s tonnes of sweetness in the cup with notes of melted Milky Way bars and honeycomb ice cream. It’s a chocolate bomb for sure. Counterbalancing the brewed cup, you can expect a fragrant hit of dried apricots and an almost tamarind bittersweet character. A yin and yang performance between cocoa and yellow fruit.
