Gravity
GOLDEN SYRUP. RUM. ORANGE PEEL.
Gravity. Can we live without it? Otherwise we’d all be floating in space. This beauty from Nicaragua is all about that. A coffee that keeps your feet firmly on the ground and offers the security that everything is going to be good today. A mutual attraction between two things that have their own mass - the coffee drinker and the beans.
The coffee has rich, velvety sweetness of golden syrup with a buttery sheen that lingers on the palate. The body and aroma of the coffee is further enhanced with deep, warming undertones of rum and a bright and citrusy lift of zesty orange peel which gives it a tangy edge and ignites the richer layers.

The Full Story
Victor Robelo at Las Nubes is the third generation growing coffee. The family were forced from the farm in the civil war, but he returned to buy back the land and return to growing coffee when he could.
The beneficio is equipped with a low water consumption demucilager, and the run off from the channels the beans are transported by is turned in to a fertilizer and reused on the farm. Coffee is dried on patios or raised beds.
Starting with growing Caturras, Pacamaras, and Bourbon, and discovering the Java varieties, they grow microlots from the farm looking to a niche customer who likes enjoy a very good coffee with the best quality profile. His wife, an architect has designed many of the buildings they need to do that.
